Capt. Robbie McLaughlin

Robbie has over 10 years of professional fishing experience. He lives and breathes fishing and is excited is to share his knowledge with you!

My older brother introduced me to fly fishing when I was only ten. We grew up fishing the waters of East Tennessee for native Brook Trout. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a fly fishing guide. I moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where completed WorldCast Anglers Western Rivers Guide School. I worked and guided in several shops throughout the Tetons.

I spent most of my time chasing trout in Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. I love trout fishing but I am equally as passionate about saltwater fly fishing.

I moved from Jackson Hole to New Orleans in hopes to further my education and start a family. I am expecting to graduate from Louisiana State University in spring of 2024. With many years spent in the medical device field, I have decided that it is time to get back on the water. I spend lots of time on the water with my family chasing fish. Luckily my wife McKell loves to fish. We both hope that our son Emmett will enjoys it too.

I love to combine my passions for traveling and fishing. I enjoy the challenges that new species and destinations hold. It is nice to get out of your comfort zone and have new experiences, especially when fly fishing is involved. Be on the look out for a chance to share new water with me and the rest of the McLaughlin Fly Fishing Co. family!
